510 Participants at MAWA
by: Jack Raines - 3-16-2015

I wanted to thank everyone so very much for their hard work this past weekend. I was told by many people both days and have received several emails since, praising our tournament as one of the most well run they have been to in quite awhile. For a tournament this size, those are great compliments to receive! Each person who volunteered their time served an important role. Each and every job was essential to making this entire thing come off. We had a total of 510 wrestlers. This tournament is critical for our fundraising needs to help support the entire wrestling program for the year. So for those who worked so hard long before the tournament got here, to ALL who worked hard during the tournament, and for those who worked to clean up and take care of things required after MAWA, I want to say THANK YOU!!!

Below are just some of the results on how we finished up:

66 Dj Richards - 1st place
70 Patrick Jordon - 3rd place
74 Reece Kuhns - 3rd place
74 Nathan Hensley - 4th place
75 Ethan Brown - 4th place
80 Kobe Link - 2nd place
136 Sam Fisher - 1st place
105 Joseph Del Gallo - 3rd place
115 Kyle Budd - 2nd place
125 Ty Foster - 3rd place
135 Camden Franklin - 2nd place
171 Clifford Harrison - 2nd place
158 Matt Raines - 3rd Place

The top THREE place winners in this tournament will advance to the Southern Regional Tournament to be held on April 11 and 12 at Wicomico Civic Center, Salisbury, MD. Then the top FOUR place winners in the Regional Tournament advance to the Middle Atlantic Wrestling Association’s Eastern National Championships on May 2 and May 3 also at Wicomico Civic Center, Salisbury, MD. Good luck to all that look to move on to participate in these events.
